Envisioning the Future of the VO...from www.theleftcoast.caWhat does a yoga instructor, a corporate lawyer-turned-country music song writer, a barrista, a secondary school teacher, an editor, a publisher and an organizer of a "rent-a-goalie" business all have in common? Other than a passion for writing, they all share a passion for a relevant, lively and independent media that brings forward Deep Local news.
Yesterday evening theleftcoast.ca sent a representative to a meeting to envision and discuss the future of the online publication, The Vancouver Observer. The tag line for the VO is "Deep Local" and it is very fitting...the VO provides locals with quality news stories and features that are definitely Deep Local issues.
The question being asked, pondered and mulled over at the gathering was, where do you go with an online "newspaper"? Big questions that need to be mulled over in the coming days. Meanwhile, check it out for yourself.
